Sarah’s story is one of continuous growth and unwavering dedication to communities in and beyond South Australia.
1910
Henry Frederick “Harry” Sarah was born in Melbourne.
1930-1938
Harry worked for Lauritz Hansen and Otto Yuncken – Hansen Yuncken.
1939
Harry relocates to Adelaide to manage Bank of New South Wales (2KW building)
1939-1960
Harry establishes Hansen Yuncken in the South Australian market, laying foundations for many structures in SA.
1961
Harry founded H.F Sarah & Sons (now Sarah Constructions).
Early 1970’s
Harry’s sons, Don & Neil, joined and the business flourished over 3 decades including founding Hindmarsh Plumbing and Sarah Homes.
Mid 1970's
H.F. Sarah & Sons had two FAVCO cranes on the Adelaide skyline, with a growing team of carpenters, plumbers, labourers, bricklayers, crane drivers and riggers, and owned and operated an extensive fleet of plant and commercial vehicles.
Mid 1970's
Harry retires with sons Don & Neil succeeding the business
1990’s
Don & Neil were succeeded by their respective sons, James and Tim, changing family directorship for the 3rd Generation
June 1999
HF Sarah & Sons reestablishes the company name to Sarah Constructions
2014
Adrian Esplin joins the Sarah team as CEO
2017
Sarah Constructions wins MBA’s Commercial Builder of the Year
2018
Sarah grows to a company of 150+ staff and achieves $250M turnover
2019
Sarah Constructions wins MBA’s Builder of the Year a second time
2020
Sarah Constructions establishes Sarah Solutions Centre along with Modular Design and Modular Delivery.
2021
Sarah Constructions celebrates 60 years
2022
Sarah Constructions wins MBA’s commercial builder of the year a third time
2024
James & Tim, stepped down from their executive roles and remain on the board
2024
Sarah now employs 400+ South Australian staff with an annual turnover of $400M, consolidating its legacy in SA, and building it’s roadmap to delivering a better future.
